Compact and extremely easy to operate, Leybold's Sogevac rotary
vane pumps are designed for continuous operation over the working pressure
range from atmosphere to less than 1 Torr (29.9 in. Hg). These single-stage
oil-sealed vacuum pumps have a gas ballast valve to prevent condensable
vapors from mixing with the pump oil, an anti-suckback valve actuated
whenever the motor stops or slows to keep backstreaming oil from diffusing
into the chamber, and an internally mounted fan which eliminates the
need for water or coolant piping. All models except SV 16, SV 25, and
UV25 also feature an external spin-on filter designed to remove particulates
from the oil. Applications for Sogevac SV include:
